Our client was charged with a second DUI and was a defense contractor at MacDill Air Force Base.
In our client’s position as a defense contractor, they had to maintain a top-secret security clearance. If our client were to be convicted of a second DUI, they would lose the security clearance and thus their job.
We successfully argued that our client had PTSD related to combat service in a combat theater. The case was transferred to Veterans Court and reduced to a lesser charge which allowed the client to keep their security clearance and their job.
Our client is now receiving treatment for PTSD through the Veteran’s Court.
